Privacy, in plain language
The honest version is short, because there is almost nothing to disclose.

Who operates this site
The controller for any personal data described here is the operator identified in the Imprint, which carries the full record: name, correspondence address, VAT identification number and direct contact at hello@plainforge.com. snowreport.app is part of the plainforge workshop of independent web instruments.
What we don't do
- No cookies. None, not even "essential" ones. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
- No accounts, no logins, no email capture.
- No trackers, no ad-tech, no fingerprinting, no social pixels.
- No SnowReport server. This site is static files. We have no database in which to store anything about you.
What stays in your browser
Your watchlist, recent searches, unit preferences and a short-lived weather-data cache are kept in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device. Clearing your browser data for this site removes them completely.
What the weather request reveals
To show a forecast, your browser requests data directly from Open-Meteo, an open-data weather API. Like any web request, it exposes your IP address to that service, together with the coordinates of the place you asked about. Open-Meteo states that it does not use cookies or store personal data; see the Open-Meteo terms for their current policy. If you use "Use my location", your device's coordinates are used for that one request and are not stored anywhere by us; we couldn't store them if we wanted to.
Hosting
The static files are served by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd, established in Cyprus, an EU member state; its privacy policy was read on 2026-09-01 at hostinger.com/legal/privacy-policy). Hostinger acts as our processor for hosting, and, like every host on the internet, may keep standard technical server logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operations. We do not receive, analyse or enrich such logs.
Analytics
If we ever add usage measurement, it will be a cookieless, aggregate-only counter (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) that cannot identify you, and this page will say so explicitly. As of the date above, there is none.
Partner links
Destination pages, the season question guides, the landing page, the snow report and the Ski Meter carry outbound links marked with a visible "Partner link" tag. On the report and the Ski Meter they appear below a finished result, never inside one, and never more than three at a time; on the landing page a fixed set of four sits at the foot of the page. A free route is always listed above them: the resort's own guide, or the report and season questions themselves. Partners that trade in some countries and not others are shown only where they can actually sell: the two package partners below cover Andorra, Austria, Czechia, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland, the two ski-rental partners cover fewer still, and none appears outside its own countries. Only one rental partner is ever shown at a time. The chalet partner below appears on the Kitzbühel page only, where it takes the UK package partner's place. None of this needs anything from you: the country used for that decision comes from the place you searched, and stays in your browser. As of the date above the active partners are Discover Cars (car hire comparison, Discover Car Hire AS, Riga), Booking.com (accommodation), Airalo (prepaid eSIM data), Faye (travel insurance, sold to US residents only), SnowTrex (package ski holidays, TravelTrex GmbH; its link carries a plain referral code and nothing else), Skiworld (package ski holidays departing the UK, Skiworld Ltd, registered in England no. 02874579), ChaletsPlus (chalet rentals in the Kitzbühel ski area, booked as an intermediary; YTJ Vakantiewoningen B.V., registered in the Netherlands, KvK Gouda 51754258), Netski (ski rental in France, Italy, Spain and Andorra, CELS, Compagnie Européenne des Loueurs de Skis SA, RCS Nanterre 877 610 923) and Skiset (ski rental in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, CFLS, Compagnie Française des Loueurs de Skis SA, RCS Nanterre 401 734 892). The Booking.com, Airalo, Faye, Skiworld, ChaletsPlus, Netski and Skiset links are tracked through Takeads (tatrck.com), which records the click and the page it came from on its own servers. If you follow such a link and book, the operator may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These are plain links: no affiliate scripts, no pixels, no tracking is added to this site. Any attribution happens on the partner's own website, under the partner's own privacy policy, and only after you choose to go there. Conditions data and Ski Meter scores are never influenced by partnerships.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights over personal data: access, correction, erasure and more. We process none, so in practice there is nothing to request, but you can always write to hello@plainforge.com and a human will answer.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The operator is established in Lithuania, so the competent authority is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, VDAI), L. Sapiegos g. 17, Vilnius, vdai.lrv.lt. You may also complain to the authority in your own country of residence.
